Pinagmulan ng Valentine’s Day

The origins of Valentine’s Day can be traced back to ancient Rome, where it was known as Lupercalia, a fertility festival celebrated in mid-February o February 15. However, the holiday as we know it today is believed to have been named after Saint Valentine, isang Christian martyr na namuhay during the 3rd century.

The story of Saint Valentine is shrouded in mystery, with multiple versions and legends surrounding his life. Defying this decree, Saint Valentine continued to perform marriages in secret.

Another legend suggests that while in prison, Saint Valentine sent a letter to a young girl he had fallen in love with, signing it “From your Valentine,” a phrase that has become synonymous with the holiday.
