Accounts na mahigit nang 2 taong inactive, buburahin ng Google

Sa bilis ng takbo ng panahon at teknolohiya, sinusundan ito ng mga tao para makasabay sa sistema ng buhay. Dahil maraming tutok sa mga produkto at serbisyo sa internet, importante ring may pag-iingat dito upang hindi maging biktima ng mga manloloko. Ang ilan sa mga partikular dito ay mula sa peligro ng spam, phishing at hindi awtorisadong pagbukas ng accounts.

Kaugnay nito naglabas ng anunsyo ang Google noong Mayo 16 na kanilang buburahin ang accounts na hindi na ginagamit sa mahigit nang dalawang taon.

Ang Google ay isang popular na search engine o major tech company kung saan bilyong mga tao ang gumagamit nito bawat araw.

“Even with these protections, if an account hasn’t been used for an extended period of time, it is more likely to be compromised. This is because forgotten or unattended accounts often rely on old or re-used passwords that may have been compromised, haven’t had two factor authentication set up, and receive fewer security checks by the user,” ani Ruth Kricheli, vice president of product management ng Google. “Our internal analysis shows abandoned accounts are at least 10x less likely than active accounts to have 2-step-verification set up. Meaning, these accounts are often vulnerable, and once an account is compromised, it can be used for anything from identity theft to a vector for unwanted or even malicious content, like spam.”

Ang buradong accounts ay mawawala na nang tuluyan sa Gmail, Google Drive, Meet, at Docs, Google Photos, Google Calendar at YouTube.

May paglilinaw na nauukol lamang ang alituntunin sa mga indibidwal na profile sa Google at hindi kasama ang mga naka-link sa mga negosyo o institusyong pang-edukasyon.

We are going to roll this out slowly and carefully, with plenty of notice:

  • While the policy takes effect today, it will not immediately impact users with an inactive account — the earliest we will begin deleting accounts is December 2023.
  • We will take a phased approach, starting with accounts that were created and never used again.
  • Before deleting an account, we will send multiple notifications over the months leading up to deletion, to both the account email address and the recovery email (if one has been provided).

Payo pa ng Google, kung matagal nang hindi nagagamit ang account ay maaari pa ring mapagpatuloy ito kung nanaisin. Kailangan lamang ng isang user na mag-sign in. Ito ay sumasaklaw sa mga pag-sign-in sa third-party websites at apps.
