Ang Pokémon ay isang multimedia franchise na nilikha nina Satoshi Tajiri at Ken Sugimori, na unang inilunsad sa Japan noong 1996. Ang franchise ay nakatuon sa fictional creatures na kilala bilang Pokémon, na captured at trained ng mga tao, na kilala bilang Pokémon Trainers, upang maglaban-laban para sa sport.
Ang Pokemon ay hango sa Japanese words na Poketto Monsutā o Pocket Monsters.

Noong Hulyo 7, nag-celebrate ng 30th anniversary ang Pokémon Company sa harap ng media na ginanap sa SM Mall of Asia (MOA) sa Pasay City. Pagdiriwang ito ng anibersaryo ng original Pokémon video games, Pokémon Red at Pokémon Green, na unang lumabas sa Japan noong 1996 para sa Game Boy platform.
Sa media event na ito, nag-announce ang kompanya sa ilang first-ever events and activities na ilulunsad sa bansa para sa extension ng pagdiriwang ng kanilang anniversary. Kabilang dito ang Pokémon RUN 30; Run into the Future with Pokémon; “Celebrate 30 years of Pokémon at SM Malls” event and First limited-time Pokémon Center POP-UP STORE in the Philippines; at ang PokéXciting! in Manila: Details Revealed!
Pokémon RUN 30: Run into the Future with Pokémon!
Ang Pokémon RUN 30 ay isang interactive running event na nagdiriwang ng 30th anniversary ng Pokémon, na nag-aanyaya sa mga kalahok na maging Pokémon Trainers sa isang engaging experience. Ang Philippine Edition ay sa October 3-4, 2026, sa SM MOA, at featured ang 5km fun run para sa lahat ng edad at skill levels, kabilang ang mga pamilya. Ang bayad sa paglahok ay kasama na ang isang espesyal na Runner’s Kit: P2,450-5KM Standard; at P3,450-5KM Premium (na may Pikachu Shoulder Plushie)
Featured din sa Festival Zone ang Pikachu parades at Meet and Greet, themed photo spots, at sponsor booths para sa fans.
“Celebrate 30 years of Pokémon at SM Malls” event | First limited-time Pokémon Center POP-UP STORE in the Philippines
Nakipag-partner ang SM Supermalls sa Pokémon upang ipagdiwang ang kanilang 30th Anniversaey, tampok ang kauna-unahang Pokémon Center POP-UP STORE sa bansa sa SM Mall of Asia mula October 2026 hanggang January 2027. Mag-o-offer ang store ng iba’t ibang merchandise: Pokémon Center Original products, trading cards, plushies, at anniversary items. May tutorial sessions din para sa Pokémon Trading Card Game at isang gaming experience sa six-month celebration.

Thank you all for joining us at this press conference announcing the Pokemon 30th Anniversary Activities. Pokemon was first introduced to the world in 1996 as a Nintendo Game Boy software title. Since then, it has expanded into various forms, including trading card games, anime, merchandise, events, and mobile applications such as Pokemon Go.
We are proud to have dedicated fans around the world. I have been with the Pokemon Company since its establishment, and have been working with Pokemon for approximately thirty years. When we first started, we had a small one-floor office in Tokyo, with fewer than thirty employees.
Thanks to the love and support of fans worldwide who have enjoyed Pokemon, now we have offices around the world with over 2,000 members. I personally took charge of the Asia region 10 years ago, and have been involved in various projects across the region. Over the past decade, the Pokemon fanbase has grown significantly, and Pokemon contents have been enjoyed by a lot of fans.
To express our gratitude and to create an enjoyable experience to both longtime fans and newcomers, we are planning Pokemon events here in Manila. As we mark this 30th anniversary milestone, we want to honor our long-standing fans, while welcoming all who will join this journey going forward, and in collaboration with our valued partners, we are excited to present these 30th anniversary activities. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Joaquin San Agustin, and SM Super Malls for accepting our proposal and supporting us on the way.
